Dog blankets – when and how to use them

A dog blanket is one of the simplest ways to give your dog a soft place of its own – at home, in the car or when travelling. Here we go through when a dog blanket comes in handy, which material suits and what to consider before you choose.

When do you use a dog blanket?

A dog blanket works in several ways, and many people use the same blanket in several situations:

  • In the dog bed: as an extra soft layer or to make the bed warmer.
  • On the sofa or bed: a protective cover for furniture that is easy to wash or brush clean.
  • In the car: a place of its own to lie that protects the car seats.
  • When travelling, at the office or visiting: a familiar spot where your dog can rest wherever you are.
  • On hard floors: a softer surface to rest on.

Which material suits?

Faux fur (Webpelz) gives a soft, fluffy feel and is easy to take with you. Teddy fabric is warm and cosy and comes in a lightly padded version with an integrated pocket. Cord has a timeless look and a non-slip underside with nubs that helps the blanket stay in place on smooth floors.

Choose the right size

Choose a blanket your dog can stretch out on. The Cord dog blanket measures 100 × 70 cm, and the Webpelz, Teddy and Travel Blanket come in several sizes. See the size chart on each product page.

Care

Brush the blanket clean when needed and spot-clean stains gently. Let it dry thoroughly before using it again. Follow the care instructions on the product page for the model you choose.

Our dog blankets

All of our dog blankets come from Maul Ledermanufaktur. Several of them are pre-order items, so delivery may take longer than for products in stock – this is shown on the product page.
