How to care for your dog’s collar

When something happens
Quick care after a walk
Deal with dirt and moisture straight away. This is usually easier and gentler than a more thorough clean later.
Mud and everyday dirt
Do not allow dirt to work its way into the material. Remove loose dirt first, then clean gently according to the material guidance above.
Rain or swimming
Remove the collar, wipe the metal parts and allow everything to air dry completely before the next use. Do not place it on a radiator.
Salt water
Gently rinse durable textile and synthetic materials with clean fresh water. Wipe the hardware immediately. Do not soak leather.
Unpleasant odours
Clean gently and allow the collar to dry completely in a well-ventilated area. Strong fragrance only masks the odour and may irritate your dog’s skin.

Can I wash the dog collar in a washing machine?+
We recommend gentle cleaning by hand. A washing machine can place strain on buckles, stitching, surface materials and decorative details. Always follow any different guidance on the relevant product page.
Can the collar be tumble-dried or placed on a radiator?+
No. Allow it to air dry at room temperature, away from strong sunlight and direct heat. High temperatures can affect the materials, adhesive, shape and hardware.
How should I care for the metal parts?+
Wipe away moisture, dirt and salt with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasives and strong chemicals. Surface finishes and brass-tone details may change naturally over time.
Can my dog swim while wearing the collar?+
Ideally, remove the collar before swimming. This reduces wear and allows the coat and skin to dry properly. Always remove a wet collar and allow it to air dry completely.
How often should the collar be cleaned?+
